The Argonauts first XI had a new team in the league for their first game, these kinds of games are always an unknown quantity and we weren't sure what to expect.

The morning got off to terrible start because our GK was stuck in Trowbridge at a mates! (Memo to self must tell Simmsy off). Nick Leader decided to volunteer for the keeper's jersey and we were ready.

We started okay and "Cookie" should really have taken a couple of chances. New Inn took the lead though and soon after they doubled that to make it 2-0, bad defending all round (not just Sealey's fault). Soon after this "Nobby" went close with a fine header from Rob's corner, however we managed to get back in the game though and we pulled one back before half-time, "Cookie" getting the goal.

The second half started and we were really up for it, "Cookie" completed his hat-trick and John "Woodie" Wood marked his competitive debut with a good headed goal. 4-2 up and we were really coasting the final whistle was about to blow, "Woodie" passed a stray ball down the line and their centre back thought he had all the time in the world, he thought wrong, Rob was on to it in flash dispossessing the opponent and then flicking it past him with ease. Rob dribbled to the corner of the penalty box, and ignoring the cries of Andy, Gary and "Nobby", nonchonantly chipped the 'keeper and scored a fine goal!
