With a nearly full strength side, (only Manager Rob Davis missing due to a knee injury picked up the day before) we felt confident going into this game, as we were unbeaten with 3 wins out of 3 so far this season. Club Captain Daren Holmes and playmaker Paul Sealey were both back in the side after missing the Fishponds Town game a couple of weeks ago. We stuck with our 3-5-2 formation, hoping to utilise the width of our pitch with our two wingers.
We started very well and throughout the first half tried to keep possession or the football. Our build up play was quite good, but it was the final third we were having difficulty with. We werent really getting the ball into the box, instead deciding to shoot from long range. Each shot either went high n wide or straight at the keeper for an easy save. With this we were getting more and more frustrated, pushing more and more people forward. This was playing into Yates hands though as they would hit us on the break. As the half went on they would push more and more people forward, coming from deep past our midfield and onto our defence. We were holding out, just, like us though it was the final ball that was letting them down. They did force a corner on the right, and as the ball was knocked into the box it went over goalkeeper Chris Sims hand and into the net. 1-0
