OPPOSITION Timberwolves
GROUND Home

With the improving performances we’ve had in recent games, we believed and hoped we could get something out of this game. With both our teams struggling for players this week we only had one sub.
Luckily for us Rob Farguita was playing today in goal, he’s been in goal for both of our draw’s this season and other close games. Not saying other keepers we’ve used haven’t had good games (apart from one – no need to ask which game that was!), but Rob has helped in keeping the goal’s out.

After Paul White’s Man Of The Match winning outing in the last game he kept his place up front. Andrew Procter was called up to the first team so Ross Holbrook joined Paul up front. Jon Nash was back after a 2 month break, which helped as Mark Ryan who’s been a regular player this season wasn’t playing today.
The game started well with us attacking from the off, early on Ross Holbrook whipped in a cross from the left, which we didn’t manage to do anything with. But it was on the left where we let ourselves down. Stu Gardiner on the left wing for today & didn’t do enough to pick up Timberwolves wide player, I think both Timberwolves goal’s came down our left flank.
Not sure if we had a corner, throw-in or free kick. Timberwolves 18yrd box was full of people from both teams, as the ball came in, the Timberwolves keeper could only punch it clear to the edge of the box, where Stu had positioned himself for any knock downs. As the ball fell, Stu caught it on the half volley; the controlled shot looped over the packed penalty area and into the top right hand corner. This got everyone going and we continued to battle to half time.

In the 2nd half we managed to keep our game and team spirit going. Paul White ran down the right wing and crossed the ball. It alluded the keeper and went in the far corner of the goal. 2-2. We had more chances in the 2nd half to win the game, but so did they. In the last 5 minutes, Rob made a good save and Matt Scott pulled off a good sliding tackle in our box. A good point, every player agreed man of the match would be a hard one to call.
