OPPOSITION Timberwolves
GROUND Away

With last week’s cup hammering, which even got a mention in the evening post, as the biggest defeat of the day, we had to now concentrate on today’s game. We reshuffled the side from last week’s quite a lot.

The two winger’s from last week we’re now up front together, Mark Ryan went from centre back to centre mid & Ben Tuck went from centre mid to right back.

Rich Scott unfortunately only managed to play about 10 minutes, he came off with an ankle injury. We held Timberwolves for about 35 minutes, with both teams advancing on goal as often as each other. But at half time we were 3-0 down.

We started well in the 2nd half, with Ryan Parsons having a header on target from a Jordan cross, with us still going strong early on. Spins took a corner, he was shooting as he normally does from corners, Stu miss timed his header and the ball ended up in the back of the net off of his shoulder! We thought that would have got us back in the game as that made it 3-1. But it didn’t, Timberwolves scored a few more times.

Our 2nd goal came about from a great passing move. Timberwolves had just scored their 7th goal. Ryan Parsons & Ross Holbrook took our centre, Ross ran with it, passed to Gary Lewis on the left wing, Gary did a one-two with Matt Scott in the middle, Gary whipped in a cross. Their defender headed it away, but only to Jordan Goodchild, who was just outside the 18yrd box, he took a touch then fired home the ball, for his 1st goal for the club.
