With some players wondering if we were ever going to get a win - after our disastrous start to this season - we all got to the ground early.
Today we had a
good strong hard team and we also had 3 subs, and a few players missing.
a little
reshuffle for the team today, terry was upfront replacing Stu, Terry was joined
by Steve Williamson - who's been injured all season. Craig went to the
left wing. With J on holiday - Mark (now Stu's Assistant (sorry forgot to
mention it on Sunday!)) went to right back and Paul White - right wing.
We started well
but 7 mins in Craig got th
e top of his foot stamped on and he couldn't
continue. Daz came on at center back, the players basically moved one
position to the left!
We we
re looking
good, all the players were doing a good job, Mike and Ian in
t
he middle
were
seeing a lot of the ball, Steve and Terry were chasing down everything.
One point in the first half we had about 5 concoctive corners, we had shots from
Paul and Terry, but it was Captain Mike who got us going 35mins in. but
not
before we had another injury, Alan had a tight muscle and had to
b
e
replaced.
half time - Luke
in goal hadn't really had much to do - if anything. We were one nil up - eve
ryone was buzzing - our team talk was: keep doing what we have done.
Yeah - that
didn't happen. A1 equalized but there was plenty of time left in the
game. Ia
n received the ball in the box and he hit it right into the top
left hand corner of the goal.
I was running the line at this point, and when Ian scored - I had Goosebumps running down my spine. I thought that was it, we've Won.
But no. Th
at wasn't the end of the game, still 30min's to go, which is just long enough
time for us to pick up another injury. Mac pulled up and had to come off.
Stu came on up front, Steve went right wing, Paul to center back. A1 had
their share of injuries too, I think all the subs they made were due to people
feeling the strain of the game. A1 then got their 2nd.
We had lot's of chances in the 2nd half, with crosses coming in from both flanks - narrowly missing players.
I felt sorry for Terry and Steve, they deserved to get on the score sheet, but there's plenty of games left in the season for them.

Man of the match voted for by the players.
