Bloody L.B. Keeper Turns The Game

The Argonauts have player L.B. once before, that was 5 seasons ago and Daren Holmes got both our goals. 

This still new looking Argonauts Res team, still on a high from last weeks great result didn't have any fear in them for today's game.

We managed to basically field the same team from last week, with only Mark and Mac missing from the starting line up.

Rob Davis (who only lasted 15mins) came in for Mac and the back and J replaced Mark at right back.

Like last week we started very well, with Steve netting his first goal for the club - which I'm sorry to say I missed as Rob was asking to be replaced as he had a dead leg - and Palmer was on the sideline telling me I had to pull rob off!?  Terry got his first goal too for the club.

At half time we found ourselves 3-2 up with Steve getting his 2nd.

The turning point in the game I believe is where terry and L.B's keeper collided, the keeper came of worse and had blood pouring from this nose - the game stopped for a few minutes while they tried to stop the bleeding.  The keeper up to this point hadn't looked that good, but after this it seamed to spur him on and he seamed to catch everything now.

With 10mins to go we were still at 3-2, I used our last two subs, Matt and Ben came on for Craig and Fowler, and within minutes L.B. scored their 3rd.

Extra Time:

It looked as if Paul White had won the game in the first half of extra time when he had a long range shot hit the cross bar - the keeper was well beat.

2nd half extra time - Terry headed home with about 8mins left, but L.B. once again came back into it.  

So the game ended 4-4, if this was a league game that probably would have been a fair result, but this was a cup game so, Pen's...

We failed to score any, 

Luke saved one.

We battled well and seen L.B. are in Div3, we made a good account of ourselves - which should help us have the believe for games to come.
