League Game

Date: Opposition: Ground:
14th Oct Stoke Lane Athletic Away

Finally!

With the team still felling the hurt from narrowly missing out on a point in our last game, StuCurly With An Early Shot decided to keep the defence the same, as they were beginning to work well together.

Craig was straight back in the team for the absent Jordan, Matt replaced Chris on the left wing.

The game seamed end to end, but I've thought that about our games before, and I've been told I must have been watching another game as we we're camped in own half - but that wasn't the case today.
Half time we were Nil Nil - with the chances we'd had, curly thought he should have had a penalty and Luke strong in goal we were confident this was our game.
We broke through Stoke Lane's off side 3 times and found ourselves one-on-one with their keeper - but each time - we just shot wide.
Curly popped up with his 31st Argonauts goal, he rounded the keeper, scored  - then ran off celebrating - to the applause of Rachel, Jo and the team.
Claridge and Chris got run out's, and thanks goes to Danny, who decided the game was too close to call and he suggested he didn't have to be used as sub, as he didn't want to upset the balance of the team
We were hanging on at the end, I thought we had 2min's left, but we played 50mins in the 2nd half! as the young Ref appeared to stop his watch each time the ball went out of play - but a real Ref is better that having the opposition ref'n.

Sure - if you look at it we maybe should have scored 3 or 4,
but a win's a win and a 1-nil win (only the clubs 7th) is very hard to come by.
