No Guarantee

Before today's game i managed to give a big team talk, i stressed how we thought who we would win over A1 - but they showed us nothings guaranteed.  So today, nothings guaranteed - we're not playing 4-4-2, their will be a different captain and the only guarantee is Luke's in goal and I've got facial hair!

With Mark making a welcomed return to the side - think he's only played about 3 games out of about 16 this season! - We today were going to try a 4-1-4-1 formation, with normal back four of, Claridge, Daz, Alan and J - Mark's roll is holding midfield - as when we attack - we don't manage all to get back - so his roll was to help there.  Midfield was Fowler, Scott, Craig and Matt, with Mike upfront on his own - not a nice roll to play - but he's capable of hurting teams - with Mike that far up the pitch - I decided to give the captancy to J - he's always vocal and commited.  Today was also a first for a long time - we had 3 subs.

First 20mins we were doing fine - with the play end to end.  Wanderers are a good team, eariler in the season they beat us 7-2.  In the next 20mins they would score 5 good goals, we got one back in the dying moments of the half.  A free kick, placed down by mark inside our own half, it was hit long and high over Wanderers midfield by Fowler - Scott ran onto it and finished. 

Only thing that happened at half time was me not coming up with a back up plan, we started the 2nd half how we ended the first.

Matt, Fowler and J all came off injured during the second half.

We lost the game 8-1 - but it didn't feel like some of the other defeats, think it was because we'd tried somthing else - plus everyone played well - no one had a bad game.
