You may think this is an odd thing to put on the site, but the events which followed my tackle on 18th Sep 05 were so unexpected. The main diary I wrote while in hospital. I started this as they give you pain killer’s 3or4 times a day and I didn’t want to forget anything. Plus I had a lot of time to kill, as I wasn’t going anywhere!
Everyone knows I love this club, how passionate I am about the club, I’ve been here from day one – granted like a handful of original players, but I’ve out lasted a lot more.
I help with club decision-making, a member of the committee
(which is now open to all players) I’m the stat’s man (I hope), the guy who
does the web, 3rd player to reach 100 games and footballer.
My first competitive game – in my life – was this club’s first too. I was 26. I never had any interest in football – what so ever. I think at school I even scored more try’s in rugby than I did goals in football, granted, that was only 1.
The closest I came to football before The Argonauts was playing Fifa on the saga mega drive!
That’s why I have no skill or control within football, as I never played it.
What I’m still doing in a football club, now in it’s 7th season is I’m now and since I let the beautiful game into my heart is I’m passionate about the game.
Each pre season, I’m there – normally in a faded black or bought in Turkey fake Nike vest, come rain or shine. People might ask why I’ve put this on the web, especially since the match-by-match diary I did a few years ago got, well ridiculed. I’m still here, sure in the first couple of season I quit (lots of time), Rob knew I didn’t mean it – that all the times I quit were after lots and lots of bears, and I’m still at the club.
My injury happened while playing for the club, I’m going to have my worst season at the club (didn’t think I was going to have another bad season). I shall go to games (home games mainly), take photos, do the stats, try and write some match reports.
